Once and Future Kings blend hook-laden, crescendo rock with a twist of dystopian lyricism.Critics compare them to Radiohead or The Flaming Lips, but your mom might say The Beatles. You probably hear something different, because everybody has different wiring in their brains.

Originally founded in Nashville, TN by vocalist/songwriter Jess Edison, vocalist/keys player Justin Henderson, and drummer Jason Hutchings, the lineup has taken a few forms over the years. Their debut EP, Emergent Sea, was recorded with Jess Edison, Justin Henderson, Jason Hutchings, and Josh Petty on bass. Notably, David Banuelos took the bass reigns beginning in late 2007. In the summer of 2008, a supernova burst these stars to separate corners of the States, and it seemed like checkmate.

During the one year hiatus, Jess Edison continued his songwriting and jumpstarted Once and Future Kings in the summer of 2009. Edison's musical gravity pulled new talent into the mix. Rush Enterline is providing the band with meticulous guitar work, Matt Austin is adding perceptive rhythms, and Matt (the bearded) Robinson is punching chests with bass.
